Care led by lived experience and decades of practice.
Telia Anderson is a Certified Birth Doula, Certified Postpartum Doula, Certified Recovery Mentor II, and peer wellness leader. She brings together birth work, recovery mentorship, trauma informed care, cultural awareness, and lived experience to create support that feels human, safe, and steady.
Telia pioneered Project Nurture at Legacy Midwifery Clinic, supporting pregnant people navigating substance use and mental health disorders. She has attended over 500 births and supported more than 150 families postpartum. Her work spans the birth room and the systems that shape it.
Her training and certifications connect to MHACBO, Mother Tree Doula, ICTC Doula, Cornerstone Doula Trainings, and DONA. Telia completed her doula training through Mother Tree Doulas and ICTC Doulas in 2015. She has served as a Subject Matter Expert with IC and RC and the Camden Coalition Blueprint for Complex Care, and currently sits on the Oregon Maternal Mortality Review Board, where she brings lived experience with addiction, recovery, mental health treatment, and trauma informed care to a holistic and compassionate review process. Telia is a MAAPPS trainer for MHACBO, a Culturally Specific Peer Wellness Specialist trainer for MHAAO, and a past president of DONA. She has presented at NAPSW, OHSU Grand Rounds, the National Perinatal Association, the Health Share Annual Conference, the Swanman Conference, and across Legacy Health.
Telia currently serves as the Culturally Specific CRM Supervisor at Lifeworks NW, where she leads and supports recovery mentors providing culturally responsive, trauma informed care. She is deeply passionate about advancing the role of the Peer Recovery Counselor and Doula in supporting pregnant people navigating substance use disorder, sexual trauma, and interpersonal violence.
As CEO, Owner, and Founder of Yasiin's Luv LLC, Telia leads a culturally specific, community based organization that provides full spectrum doula support and consulting services rooted in healing, advocacy, and holistic care. The practice is based in Portland, Oregon at 12600 SE Stark Street, 97233.
From birth work to public policy.
Telia has petitioned in Salem for housing support connected to the expansion of services into Eastern Oregon and the work that became known as Nurture Oregon. Her voice brings community wisdom into rooms where systems are shaped, so families across Oregon are seen, heard, and supported.
